I know, took me long enough! I would write more, but it's so exhausting. No worries, the pictures are so drool-worthy that my words would just distract you.

Roost
Address: 1403 SE Belmont Street, Buckman, Portland, OR
Phone: (971) 544-7136
On Sunday morning, we went to brunch at Roost, a restaurant just steps from our apartment. Usually finding a Sunday brunch spot is difficult, but we just walked right in and were seated at the bar within seconds. I already knew that we were going to eat like crazy in the afternoon, so I wanted something light on the carbs...so no French toast or pancakes...even though they looked incredible. Ricotta pancakes and bacon?! Come on!
Roxanne went light, too. She opted for the Toasted Olive Bread with Pea Puree, Poached Eggs and Arugula Salad.

Braised Chicken Tostada
Corn Cakes, Avocado, Salsa Verde, and Eggs

Forktown Tours
Roxanne and I decided to take a food tour of the Mississippi District. We learned it's a close-knit community that is somewhat rising from the ashes of past violence that used to run the area. It reminded us a little of the Haight and Berkeley with its adorable shops and unique eateries.
If you want to go on a food tour in PDX, Forktown is the way to go!
