So it’s 4th of July weekend and all I can think of was food and partying. Summertime! Gotta love it. When my friend Alainna aka @ahhlaynahh told me about this event, I knew it was going to be a lot of fun. Hosted by @mixsterious and STRICTLY FOR yoU, this would be the first time that the SF food carts had an event in San Mateo. The club itself is very attractive with the high ceilings and blue lighting. Reminded me of PURE in Vegas. Where I wanted to be was at the back patio where the food carts were set up. *click on pic to go to the cart's Twitter page*

This is the same French taco that I had at Precita Park a couple of weeks ago. As you remember from the last time, I LOVED it. The chefs told me they had perfected the recipe and it was, as expected, very tasty!

They also had a side dish of truffled macaroni and cheese. I loved the truffle flavor and the bread crumbs on top. Nice contrasting textures.

Miss Pot Pie Junkie was serving her shepard’s pie again for this event, and I liked it even more the second time! Nice to catch up with Miss Cassie and chit chat about Vegas. =)

Abe was also in the house with his little Lennys. I [heart] Lenny. Given the circumstances and low lighting, he still managed to cook up some perfect lumpia shanghai for everyone.

The birthday girl Tara made her famous sio baos. She had a few varieties, such as the short rib, but I went for the lechon kawali and the sizzlin’ shrooms. I love these baos, I can eat them with anything, and her versions were a delight. That's dedication - working on your birthday! =)

Miss Cathy of @localfleyvr hooked it up with these loaded potatoes with cheese and sour cream. I was looking forward to her “luscious liquids,” but she wasn’t allowed since there was a bar. Boo! Next time I’m heading straight for the hibiscus!

I was REALLY excited to try the madeleines because I have never had their’s before. I AM IN LOVE! The strawberry ones were TO DIE FOR. Thank you for bringing them to the event. I can eat these all day. No joke. They also had a chili which was paired with a corn bread madeleine. Genius.

I had a fabulous time with my fiancĂ©, foodies, friends, and food. @GumboCart and @AdoboHobo were also in attendance, but I simply couldn’t eat anymore. They know I have mad love for them. =) The music was also fantastic - courtesy of Kendo aka @mixsterious and @kevmix - you’re the best! ;-)

Overall, successful evening, great to catch up with everyone and have some serious laughs…“when I met you last night baby, before you opened up your gap…” TOO much fun.
Summertime is here and I am welcoming it with open arms. Have a Happy 4th of July weekend and everyone please play safe!
xoxo,
Jo
